The importance of doing what you love. Often you’ll hear “gurus” on self-development and entrepreneurship who preach mixed messages when it comes to doing the things you love in order to earn an income or a living. What if your favorite pastime is to sit on a couch eating pizza and watching movies? Who’s going to pay you to do that? Some say “Always go with your passions!”. I believe the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Whatever your passions arc you can probably find a way to monetize this. By either tweakingyour approach, your market, or your audience to somehow craft a service or product that would inform and/or entertain them. The same goes for doing something that you feel you need to do just for money. Try to inject a bit of what you are passionate about into it. How can you adjust elements of the project or work so you are focusing on the areas of your passion? I say this because money only motivates people to a certain extent. After a certain amount you need more than money. You need to feel you are actually creating something of worth, something from within you that will now exist in the world for all to experience. So yes, do what you love but make sure it’s also profitable.
